My Daily Writing: September 10th, 2015

I started working on my "This I Believe" essay today. Before starting, I did some research and went to thisibelieve.org. I read couple of other people's essays to get a feel of how to write my essay. Finding and reading examples help me out a lot when I have a assignment that's due. I also read some of the essays that were linked to my teacher's blog. I found all the essays I read very interesting. Some of them were funny, some serious, and some were eye opening. My first thought was, these people really know how to effectively express themselves through words. I hope to also be able to do that in the future.

So far, I have only gotten two pages done of my "This I Believe" essay. I know, a 3-5 page personal narrative is not that hard, but it kind of is to me. I always struggle to find things to write about and interest stories to add. I feel like I'm not trying hard enough, and I'm probably not. I'm trying my best to pace myself so I don't just put down a bunch of useless rubbish. I have a bad habit of doing that when I get tired of writing. By the way, I'm not British, I just thought the word "rubbish" fit best in that sentence.

I started my essay by writing all the different stories the I want to include in it. Then, I wrote my introduction. The two pages I wrote still need a lot of work done to them. I need to expand on my paragraphs by adding vital information, and make my paragraphs more fit for reading. All in all, I really hope my essay turns out well and is able to not only help me, but also help encourage other people to share the same belief as me. I certainly don't expect to impact the whole world, but impacting a small group of people would be nice.
